It is lord of Laval, baron de Vitré and Gouverneur of Brittany.- Wire of Guy X of Laval and Béatrix of Brittany

- Married the May 28th 1384 with Jeanne of Laval-Tinténiac, lady of Châtillon, widow of Of Guesclin of which:

Guy XII of Laval by its second marriage, is the ancestor of an incalculable number commoners, noble and sovereigns of all Europe.
After the priory of Cunault had been taken again on the English by Amaury IV of Craon and Bertrand of Guesclin, it had had of it the guard with Geoffroy of Bresse, knight Poitevin. The May 28th 1364, Urbain V writes Avignon with the duke of Anjou to use of all its capacity to obtain the restitution of the priory to the holder Jean de Durfort, relative of Hugues, cardinal deacon of Sainte-Marie in Porticu . It makes the same request, the November 5th of the same year, in favor of Guy of the Pine, its chaplain, provided then with the priory.
War of succession of Brittany
Guy XII was also solicited by Urbain V to bring back peace between Jeanne de Penthièvre, Duchesse of Brittany and Jean de Montfort. It is a fact to raise to specify the role of Guy XII in this long fight where undoubtedly, according to the instructions of the pope, the lord of Laval sought, but unnecessarily, to pacify the two parties, December 10th 1364.See also: War of succession of Brittany
The chartrier of Roë contains also lord de Laval and of Chasteaubrient an act given to Vitré, under its bookmark the June 20th 1365, by which it gives to Guillaume of the Fountain and Olivier of Boishamon, commission to get informed about the legitimacy of a revenue of 20 S. on the coustumery of Marcillé whose canons of Roë had claimed the arréages for nine years.
Pierre the Baud, recalls that at the beginning of the 15th century, the count Guy XII loved the good cantors and musicians which it maintained several with his despens.
In a lawsuit that Raoul, lord of Coetquën, supposedly Chamberlain of the duke of Brittany, made the count de Laval Guy XII, administrator of the goods of the minors of Jean IV of Brittany, duke of Brittany, in 1402, several lords knights, on the orders of the count de Laval would have taken along captive the subjects of the known as lord of Coetquën.
In 1404, curator of the duke Jean IV of Brittany since the death of the father of this one, Guy XII is discharged from his functions by the young duke, because of the weaknesses due to its age. He dies with the Château of Laval in 1412.
