At the end of the the Forties and after the war, its mother being seriously sick and her father occupied by his functions of soldier, it turned over in Alsace. The trainer of a club

The management of the club and its manpower follows the example of the Abbé Deschamps, founder of AJA. The Burgundian coach is (very) rigorous at the financial level, but the balance of a formation being pressed on a very narrow basin of population is at this price. The financial stringency, moreover exploited by the chansonniers, is not the only ingredient of Auxerre-native success. Very open on the football of the whole world, Guy Roux is one of the finest experts of football, in all her dimensions. Its model in the construction of AJA will be the Laval-native Stade of Michel Milinaire. This science is put at the service of its club which rests initially and above all on the training of young players. The latter are then sold, at the best price, leaving the place to a rising new generation. In order to give more body to its formation, all the formations of the club evolve/move with the same tactics. The favorite training of Guy Roux was a long time the 4-3-3, but after its return of more or less sabbatical year (2000-2001), he chooses according to the cases for one 4-4-2 or one 4-3-3 whole while giving up individual marking.

June 5th, 2005, he announces his sporting retirement as a trainer of football of AJA, the shortly after his fourth victory in cut of France. He will have directed the club during 42 seasons, that is to say more than 2000 matches.

In July 2005, very media Guy Roux (it made several publicities which exploits its reputation of miserly and of peasant crafty beggar) joined Canal+ to comment on the matches there championship. Its outspokenness and its knowledge as well of the football than of the players as it could have to attend in make excellent consulting and sporting commentator. During the World cup 2006, Guy Roux is also consulting of Sport free attitude and Europe 1. On its blog, it makes a daily point on the Blue ones.

Guy Roux published an autobiographical book with Dominique Grimault in 2006, Between us - Memories , ED. Plon, and in 2000, Eugene Saccomano and Serge Mesonès wrote on him Guy Roux - trainer of my life to the ED. Euro Images.
