Guy Marchamps

Guy Marchamps was born with Three-Rivers (Quebec) in 1958.

Biography

Poet, he is stimulating arts person and cultural since 1980, cofounder of the review the Port (1983) and organizer of more than one hundred of literary meetings and spectacles of Poésie.

He exerted several trades such as: worker of factory, Technician of scene, Librarian, professor of Literature, Bookseller and cultural chronicler with the radio. Holder of a control in French literature of the University of Quebec with Three-Rivers, it always in parallel made music. Since 2000, it belongs to the poetic and musical group, Band of poets.

The weather was member then chairman of the board of the Company of development of the Québécois cultural periodicals, president of the Company of the Writers of Mauricie and is today part of the board of directors of the Union of the écrivaines and writers Québécois. He took part or animated in Montreal with many literary activities: the radio program “star Décrocheurs” of Radio-Canada, the International festival of literature, the Festival Voice of America, the French-speaking Market of poetry, Off the Jazz festival. With Three-Rivers, it has taken part for twenty years in the International festival of poetry. Abroad, it gave readings to Paris, Avignon, Namur, Guadalajara and Holguin. He collaborated in many reviews of which Estuaire (Quebec), Osiris (the United States), the Sap (France), Sources (Belgium) and BlancoMovil (Mexico).

He published ten books and Cd of poetry of which Poème of love to humanity with the editions the Tree with Words in Belgium and Bestiaire with the Art editions the Port in Quebec.
