Guy Lafleur

Guy Damien Lafleur O.C (September 20th 1951 with Thurso, Quebec) is a player of Hockey of the National league of hockey. Called the “fair demon” or “flower” by others, he is regarded as one of most popular and better players to have played professional hockey.

He is selected in the forefront of the Repêchage amateur of the LNH 1971 by the Canadian of Montreal. As of its first season among Canadians, it is pointed out by marking 64 points. Then, he becomes the first player of the history to know 6 seasons of continuation with at least 50 goals and 100 points. He thus makes it possible to the Canadians to gain five times the Coupe Stanley.

He knows a 17 years career in the National league of hockey, of 1971 to 1991,14 seasons with the Canadians, followed by a retirement during 3 seasons, and of return during one season with the Rangers of New York and two with the Nordiques of Quebec.

The trophy given by the Ligue of hockey major junior of Quebec to the most useful player in eliminatory series bears the name of “Trophée Guy Lafleur”.

He is member of the Temple of re-elected hockey.

Its #10 was withdrawn by the Canadian in February 1985.
