Guy Lafitte

Guy Lafitte (January 12th 1927 - June 10th 1998) is a saxophonist tenor of Jazz.

Biography

It was born with Saint-Gaudens. After an engagement, very young, during the war, in the ftp and the maquis, he plays of the clarinet and the saxophone in orchestras accordion music, then he plays in the cabarets of Toulouse (of which famous the Tournerie of Drogueurs ), and the south of France. Gone up in Paris, it exchanges its clarinet against a saxophone tenor. It is especially known for its collaboration with Mezz Mezzrow in 1951 - 1952, and for its concerts with Big Bill Broonzy in 1951.

It settles with Paris in 1954 and plays with Lionel Hampton and Emmett Berry. He also collaborated in various projects with musicians like Jack Diéval, Wild Bill Davis and Bill Coleman.
