Guy II of the Rock

Guy II of the Rock (1280; October 5th 1308) was duke of Athens of 1287 to its death. He was the last duke of his family. It suucéda with his/her father Guillaume Ier of the Rock at one time when the duchy of Athens became more powerful, more important and more rich person that the Principauté of Achaïe. Guy II began his reign under the regency of his mother, Helena Ange Comnène. In 1291, it married its second husband, Hughe de Brienne, and he became City council man duchy. Guy reached his majority in 1296. In 1299, the duke Maria with Matilde, girl of Isabelle and Florent de Hainaut. Following that, the Parliament of Athens gave the title of duke to Gautier V of Brienne.
