Guy Fawkes Night

Guy Fawkes Night (“the night of Guy Fawkes” in English), also named Bonfire Night or Fireworks Night (“the night of the bonfires” or “the fireworks”) or Stud Night (“the night of the conspiracy”), is a celebrated festival the November 5th in several countries of the world, initially with the the United Kingdom, but also, by extension, in Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, with Newfoundland and in some parts of the the United States and for a few years with Disneyland Has brought out Paris.

This festival commemorates the failure of the Conspiration of the powders, the plot of a group of Catholique S under the direction of Guy Fawkes aiming at exploding, the November 5th 1605, at the time of the presence of the king protesting Jacques I {{er}}, the Parlement of Westminster, with thirty-six barrels of powder.

Everywhere, one sees Fireworks S and one builds “bonfires”. An effigy representing the most famous member of the conspiracy of the powders, Guy Fawkes, is set up above these bûchers. With fallen the night, the bonfires are set ablaze and the children beg has penny for the Guy .
