Guy Erismann
Guy Erismann (1923-2007), writer, musicologist and historian, specialist in the Czech music, made all its career with Radio-France, of 1945 to 1988.
In 1965 it created the musical program of France-Culture.
In 1962, it became at the request of Jean Vilar the musical director of the Festival of Avignon, and took up this duty during 25 years.
It is especially known for its books of history of the Czech music, of which some make authority, and its biographies of the type-setters Antonin Dvořák, Leoš Janáček, Bohuslav Martinů, Bedřich Smetana, etc It also collaborated in various reviews (the Apron Operated, International Opéra, Encyclopedia Universalis…).
He was also vice-president of the Académie Charles Cros and president-founder of the Mouvement Janáček, movement created in 1985 for better doing to be up to all the tricks Czech contemporary.
Among its other personal interests, he was Vice-Président of honor of France-Czechoslovakia Association during several years until the dissolution of Association when the Czechoslovakia is dissolved. He is deceased only a few two small weeks before his colleague and collaborator in this work, the former Honorary president of Association, Marcel Marceau, and both remain well recognized like good friends of the people Czech and Slovak.
Guy Erismann was Chevalier of the Légion of honor, Chevalier of the National order of the Merit and Officier of Arts and Lettres.
