Guy Dollé

Guy Dollé is a head of French undertaking, born in 1942, former owner of the iron and steel group free-hispano-Luxemburgish Arcelor whom it will leave following the repurchase of this last by Mittal Steel.

Of modest origin, it grew with Metz in Lorraine. After having made the polytechnic school (X1963 Promotion), it began its career in iron and steel research with the Research institute of the iron and steel industry.

In 1980, it enters to Usinor, where it climbs, one by one all the levels: director of the international operations, managing director, then in May 2002, president of the head office of Arcelor, to replace Francis Mer, craftsman of fusion between Usinor, Arbed and Aceralia, and named in France, Minister for the economy.

In 2003, it announces the plan of industrial reorganization of the Arcelor group but accompanying a revival by its international expansion towards the Brésil, the Turkey and the Canada where it carries out an offer on the company Dofasco.

It belongs to the Cercle of the Industry which defends the interests of the French companies near the European Union, and chairs the International federation of iron and steel (IISI).

At the end of June 2006, it has to be inclined vis-a-vis the unfriendly tender offer on the Arcelor group by Lakshmi Mittal, the Indian owner of the iron and steel group Mittal Steel, n°1 world of the sector (in produced tons of steel). In its combat it had been initially constant by French and Luxembourg the Prime Ministers, Dominique de Villepin and Jean-Claude Juncker and by the European trade unions of the iron and steel industry in France, in Luxembourg, in Spain, in Italy, in Belgium and Germany. On the other hand, the shareholders of Arcelor did not only not follow it in its strategy of alliance to the Severstal Russian nor did not appreciate the operations of " setting under cocon" of Dofasco, Canadian company lately acquired by Arcelor and that Mittal planned to resell in ThyssenKrupp as of the tender offer finished in order to recover some liquidities.

Administrator of Gaz de France since 2004 and member of the Board of trustees of International Arc since 2007.

Amateur of Football (FC Metz), Golf and Race on foot, it had with his Michele wife two children: Pierre-Olivier and Anne-Claire.
