Graduate of the School of the charters, he becomes secretary of the Committee of historical work and assistant librarian of the Institute. One estimates his Recherches on the grammatical forms of the French language and his dialects at the 13th century , published after his death by Paul Ackermann, Paris, 1839, in-8, and his work on the Patois.
