Gustave Danneels
Gustave Danneels is an old runner Belgian cyclist , born the September 6th 1913 with Loos-in-Gohelle (Pas-de-Calais - France), deceased the April 13rd 1976 with Knokke. He will become Champion of Belgium on road category beginning in 1931 independent and category in 1933, then professional in 1935.
He made his professional beginnings in 1934, and until in 1943 will remain it.
In 1936, by gaining Paris-Turns to 41,455 km/h, he becomes the first holder of the yellow Ruban, distinction lately created by Henri Desgrange to distinguish the runner having established the speed records on a race from + of 200 km. This record is beaten by Jules Rossi in 1938 on Paris-Turns also.
