Gustave Borgnis-Desbordes is a general French, born with Provins the October 22nd 1839 and deceased with Hanoï the July 18th 1900.

Polytechnician, it took part in the French colonial conquest, in particular in Cochinchine and with the French Sudan (it enters to Bamako in 1883). He is major general. FILE SHAT n°22/GD3 colo: Officer, major general. Conqueror of Sudan. Creator of the railroad Niger-Ocean, it was distinguished against Samory and founded Kita and Bamako (1881-1883). He fought in Tonkin (1884-1890). Several municipalities whose Versailles have streets with its name. Its bust is installed in the court of the town hall of Versailles.En 1886, Brigadier general. Resulting from a family of Morlaix, grandson of a deputy of Finistere, and wire of a polytechnician, it had been born in Provins in 1839. Polytechnician himself in 1859, it had then followed the courses of the artillery school of Metz, then had been used in Toulon until the rank as captain. He had then remained in Cochinchine of 1868 to 1871, then had been used as assistant to the Frébault general, in Paris. He was a major since 1875 and had just been promoted lieutenant-colonel. Gustave Borgnis-Desbordes, general, born in Provins on October 22nd, 1839, entered to Polytechnique on October 18th, 1859. From February 16th, 1868 to March 1st, 1871, it made countryside in Cochinchine. He died in Hanoï on July 18th, 1900 In 1890: Major general.
