Gustav Freytag

Gustav Freytag (July 13rd 1816 with Kreuzburg - April 30th 1895) was a German writer.
He studied the Philologie with the Université of Breslau and the university of Berlin.
In 1847, it settles in Berlin. The following year, it becomes with Julian Schmidt the editor of Die Grenzboten , a weekly magazine founded in 1841 and become the principal platform of German and Austrian liberalism. Freytag took part in its direction until 1861, then again between 1867 and 1870. It also briefly published a new periodical, Im neuen Reich .
Freytag died in 1895 with Wiesbaden.
