Gurumayi Chidvilasananda
Hindu Master current of the Siddha Yoga, born on June 24th, 1955, and continuing the lesson of Swami Muktananda.
Biography
Born Malti Shetty in 1955, Gurumayi has a brother, Swami Nityananda, (Subhash Shetty, born in 1962, not to confuse with the great saint Bhagawan Nityananda). It meets Swami Muktananda at the 10 years age and follows its teaching. At the adulthood, it becomes its translator (for English). Later, it receives initiation Shaktipat and in 1982, Maha Shaktipat by Muktananda.
In May 1982, Gurumayi is chosen by Swami Muktananda to succeed to him (with his/her Nityananda brother but this one gives up the function later three years). It becomes the only Master living of the line of Siddha Yoga.
