Gurû Gobind Singh

Gurû Gobind Singh (December 22nd 1666 - October 7th 1708). The last of the ten Gurûs of the sikhism. He is the creator of the Khâlsâ , the chivalrous order of the Sikhs.

He completed the company of guru Nanak ji. He supplements the Âdi Granth , militarizes Sikhs, forms the Khâlsâ Panth ( community of pure the ). He founds Amrit (kind of baptème). After many last years to fight the troops mogholes and persecutions of Aurangzeb, he crowns the Siri Guru Granth Sahib like his ultimate successor.

He wrote Dasam granth which is a compilation of holy texts but which are not necessary to confuse with the guru granth sahib which has truly the statute of guru.

He only became guru at the 9 years age. But it is advisable to keep in mind that to be guru is not equivalent being the lord of the sikhs. In fact, the maturity of the age does not make party of the criteria making it possible to define a guru. In philosophy sikh it is the heart of Gurû Nanak which changed body, moreover neither the body of guru Nanak nor that of guru Gobind Singh ji were found, the body is actually only one receptacle. The guru is that which offers its knowledge, within the framework of the religion it is that which shows the way. The heart not having changed, philosophy, the way it be either, it thus becomes absurd of illégitimer a guru because of its age.

Amrit

There was a form of amrit before even its introduction by the tenth guru, the " charnamrit" , the subject was to drink water having was used to wash the feet of that which it wished to regard as guru. Guru Gobind Singh put an end to this practice. Knowing in advance that its successor would be Sri guru Granth sahib, the practice of the charnamrit would be obsolete.

The guru thus decided to found the " Khandé di pahul" or amrit. This action was going also to enable him to basically differentiate a sikh from a Hindu or from a Moslem. The sikhs did not have hitherto a " rituels" marking entered the community.

The April 14th, 1699 (for more information ciquer on this bond) in Keshgar sahib, today one of the five Takhts, the guru founded the ceremony of the baptème. For that it chooses 5 Sikhs, the " panj piaré" (5 good liked) that he baptized, then asked itself the 5 to offer Amrit to him. De Gobind Spoke it become Gobind SINGH. For this day all the sikhs have named SINGH (lion) for the men and KAUR (princess) for the women; all must follow the rehat nama (code of conduct) like carrying the 5K

The day when it becomes Guru

Little before its death, the ninth guru receives a delegation of 500 Brahmans of the Cashmere: the emperor moghol Aurangzeb orders to them to convert with the Islam under penalty of death. It is a way of marking the domination of the Moghol Radical Islam on the traditions hindouists, those being particularly preserved with the Cachemire.

Gurû Tegh Bahadur thus considered on a means of putting a term at these massacres. At this point in time Gobind Spoke (Guru Gobind Singh) which returned at his place at the end of a play, made its appearance. He questioned his father on the reason of the presence of this delegation and also of what guru Tegh Bahadur thought. His/her father explained the situation to him. Gobind Rai requires the solution then of him that it had found at the end of its reflection. Guru Tegh Bahadur answered that a great man was certainly to sacrifice himself.

Gobind Rai thus retorted by him telling that there was nobody today more sizeable and of larger than him, thus child a 9 year old sent his father to the sacrifice with an aim of trying présever the religion Hindu. It is as in this manner as guru Tegh Bahadur reconnaissa Gobind Rai as being ready has to become the future guru sikhs.
