Gundam Seed Destiny or Mobile Follows Gundam Seed Destiny ( Kidô senshi Gundam Seed Destiny ) is a Televised series of Japanese Animation created in 2004 according to the Anime Gundam Seed of which it is the continuation and diffused between the October 9th 2004 and on October 1st 2005 on the network TBS.
Synopsis
One year passed after the end of the war and a fragile peace is preserved after a fashion. All degenerates when the Gundam last of ZAFT are concealed by the unknown ones. Following the battle that this flight caused, the most recent vessel of the fleet of ZAFT, the Minerva , launch out to the continuation of the three Gundam stolen with on its board Shinn Asuka, pilot of the one of only Gundam (the Impulse ZGMF-X56S) having escaped with the vol.
A little later it is joined by the pilot of the Savior Gundam (ZGMF-X23S), Athrun Zala, former soldier of ZAFT which re-enlisted in the army at the sides of the Dullindal leader of the colonies SEEDLING. But the organization Blue cosmos, at the origin of the preceding war, puts its grain of salt, and starts a war between Terrestrial Alliance, and ZAFT. How Archangel, and its crew, will be able to put an end to this war?
Comment
It will have taken only two years, and left again itself about it for fifty episodes to tell the war under its various aspects. And with this intention, it is the same team as for Gundam Seed which is joined together, Mitsuo Fukuda being always with the realization.
The history starts on the same bases as the series which it succeeds, flight of Gundam (traditional of the saga), but the point of view changes, it is this internal time at ZAFT (the army of the coordinators). Technologically speaking, we start where we had remained about it with the battle of Jackin Due, with in more the appearance of new types of Mobile Follows that the experts will have recognized (the more so as it take again the names which they had in Mobile Follows Gundam): Zaku, then Gouf.
Who says new series hears new characters. The council of the Seedlings elected a new president of the name of Gilbert Durandall who at the beginning of the adventure shows that it will be much more present than his predecessor Patrick Zala. But we follow especially the crew of the very new man-of-war of the fleet of ZAFT, Minerva, where we find the new protagonist, the pilot of the last generation of Gundam, Shinn Asuka, which is not other than the boy of which the tragic destiny summer exposed to the whole beginning of the first episode. You reassure, the former heroes are always present. They live their lives each one on their sides (or to two), but will be, progressively of the events, forced to take again service.
Moreover, of the artists take again also service. TM Revolution returns for credits of opening and a music basic for a decisive situation; Tamaki Nami signs credits of end; Laughs Tanaka and the group Fiction Junction Yûka once again fills us by musics of funds which acomppagnent various situations successfully; and finally the See-Saw group returns with the last credits of end, which concluded last episodes with the charm that it their is necessary. Among nouveaus-come, note the second credits of end sung by Mika Arisaka quis is characterized by its softness. As for Gundam Seed, the musics constitute one of largest the success of the series.
They are besides of a good help to accompany the topics approached. Initially taking again the topics already treated in Gundam Seed, namely the war and his causes, hatred, the friendship, racism ets one uselessness, Gundam Seed Destiny develops those which was it little or not enough. It is the case of the policy, very present this time in all its aspects. It is not rare that the interludes return to the sides of the president of the Seedlings surrounded by his close relations or in deprived, or then at the sides of the successor of Murta Azraël to the head of Blue Cosmos, Lord Jibril. Then, it is the mortality of the civilians in the war which is developed much more, effectively, since we are always accordingly of racial war, where one of the two camps must disappear.
Gundam Seed Destiny thus seems to have the same objecif one as the series which it succeeds, to divert while giving to reflect on so significant topics.
Bases of the polemic
Following the example Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny could enjoy one big hit and gained Animates it Grand Prix of its year. Better still, the series always continues on the impetus while being, two years after its first diffusion, among the most popular series in Japan. However, it became impossible to speak about this series without evoking the polemic which succeeds to him, or succeeds it, so much it can be vigorous.
Beside criticisms carrying on what, in oneself, likes or not, it is one which results in fact from fears which can however only have course near the European experts of the saga. It should be recalled that France discovered the saga only late, with Gundam Wing, without to have been able to previously see the series founders, which penetrate, slowly but surely, on the territory currently. So since Gundam Seed Destiny, more still than Gundam Seed, takes again at the same time the names and the design of matched appearing in the former series - still ignored French general public (Zaku and Gouf are in fact of the robots having been born in the series founder of 1979, in which besides a spaceship appears, White Base, to which the design is relatively close to Archangel, vessel in which evolves/moves Kira and its friends), a scenario begins again several times used in the saga (in particular in the series Zéta Gundam), the French experts fear that one does not confuse copied and the copier. It goes without saying that Japanese knows where the truth is.
Another aspect of the cartoon prone to controversele return of the former main characters of Gundam Seed ahead of of the scene, who would marginalize of this fact the new main characters into full horns with the series. It seems to be a question in fact of the choice of the Japanese public. With the country of the Rising sun, the public holds a big role in the realization of the mangas and of animate. Therefore, undoubtedly it was understood that a continuation of Gundam Seed would not go without the so much awaited idols of the public. Afterwards, it is to the televiewer to judge if this return were well or badly managed. Here one of the reasons which explains success in Japan, while causing a certain incomprehension under our latitudes.
Lastly, it there with criticism, universal, bearing on the respect of the codes founders and fundamental justifying the membership of one series to the saga Gundam. At the same time as stays diffused for the first time Mobile Follows Gundam into 1979 were posed the bases of a new kind in matched: the real-Robot. As its name indicates it, a rule is essential from the start: while remaining science fiction, the saga proposes to offer to the televiewer a certain technological credibility with respect to our time (not of invincibility for example), but all while extending further. The psychology of the characters is it also credible, effective since excavated (not or few stereotypes). Introspection is of rigor for the main characters, which makes them more important than the robots. The latter are standardized besides in the universes presented, so that they are relegated to the row of simple tools. They are there the bases of all series estampillée " Gundam" , and some would be lacking with Gundam Seed Destiny. Deficiencies would be even obvious, following the example technological quasi-realism required. Obviously, which is called into question here, it is the quality of the series as an element integrated in a well codified saga. Judged independently, the verdict would not be so severe. Otherwise, how to explain its success?
