Gun Club

The Gun Club is an American group of music carried out by Jeffrey Lee Pierce.

This one (born the June 27th 1958, with Montebello, California and deceased the March 31st 1996) lived the first years of its life between El Monte and Reseda. Teenager, he quickly became a local celebrity, haunting the clubs of Hollywood or signing articles (critical of discs and chronicles in concert) in the fanzines of then like “SLASH magazine”… Large fan of the group Bleached, Jeffrey Lee Pierce became at the time the president of their fan-club… this explaining the influences and the progressive orientation of his looks and appearances.

Musicalement marked by groups like X, Television, or The Cramps, Jeffrey meets Kid “Congo” Powers, pushes it to initiate itself with the guitar and with him the group The Creeping Ritual in 1980-81 forms… According to the advised councils of an old friend (Keith Morris of the Circle Jerks), our two accomplices decide to change name and rename The Gun Club . The group starts to play regularly in the clubs of Los Angeles (Cathay De Grande, Mrs Wongs, Starwood, Whiskey etc), forging a solid reputation and working out step by step the repertory of a very first album, Fire Off Coils , which will be born in 1981.
