History

In 1974, the team of the Arsenal of Fayetteville which was to begin the season from hockey in the Southern Hockey League was unable to ensure of the dates and a skating rink where to play. The team tranforma in Gulls de Hampton right before the beginning of the season thanks to the removal of the Wings of Virginia, team of American Ligue of hockey, which left their free skating rink.

Gulls, adopted like club-school by the Stingers of Cincinnati of the Worldwide association of hockey, played three seasons in SHL, gaining the regular season of 1976-77. When the league ceased its activities, Gulls joined the American League of hockey for the season 1977-78. Unfortunately, because of the more important financial constraints in this league, they could not finish the season and filed for bankruptcy on February 10th, 1978.
