Guitar Hero

A guitar hero (that one can translate by “guitarist except standards”) is a nonofficial title decreed with some Guitariste S, in particular in the Rock; it can reward a technical virtuosity (control of the Tapping, Sweeping, picking, etc) like a melody genius. In general, one grants nevertheless this title only to the guitarists having had a certain historical impact. Thus in this category all the guitarists having shone by some solos or some albums do not return. However, this nonofficial definition makes the limits of this title very variable.

At the origin, the term applied only to three guitarists: Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. It was then applied to other remarkable guitarists by their talents.
