Guinea fowl

The guinea fowls are Oiseau X of farmyard about the galliformes, originating in Africa, with the dark plumage dotted of white, which nourish seeds.

Description

They are terrestrial birds dodus, of intermediate size (from 40 to 72 cm), with small head cornea and short and hanging tail. Broad zones of naked skin decorate the neck and the head; the majority of the species carry a peak or an ossified helmet.

The common Guinea fowl, Numida meleagris , has a peak cornea on the head and of let us barbillons red. The guinea fowl lays in the neighborhoods from 12 to 15 eggs. At the end of 23 to 24 days of incubation, the blossoming takes place. The two parents take part in the breeding of the pintadeaux one.

Habitat

The guinea fowls live in Africa, in the South of the the Sahara, where they occupy a broad variety of habitats, since the dense rain forest to the semi-desert.
