Guindeau

The guindeau is a Treuil with horizontal axis used on the ships to raise the anchors. It is also used for Virer the Aussière S.

The guindeau is generally on the strong of front, with the top of the Puits to the chains. Its operation is hydraulic, electric, or with vapor.

The sprocket wheels which are adapted to the dimension of the meshs of the line of damping and which are used to transfer the chain name Barbotin S , the external elements used to transfer the hawsers name headstocks , the other elements when they exist are rollers of hawsers.

The sprocket-wheels and the rollers are embrayables or not on the axis of power of the guindeau, they also have their own system of mechanical brake. To prevent that the chain does not make more than three quarters of turn on the sprocket-wheels, a part called language of ox is added, it drives out with the need the chain for the print.

In front of the guindeau and before the pipe S one finds two hitchkikers of chain or pawls, allowing to once withdraw the tension from the guindeau the ship the anchor.
