Guillaume de Montferrat (1150-1177)
Guillaume de Montferrat (Ca 1150 † 1177), also called Guillaume Long Sword (Lungaspada), count de Jaffa and of Ascalon (1176 - 1177), wire of Guillaume V, marquis de Montferrat and of Judith de Babenberg.
It came in Holy Land and married Sybille, sister of Baudouin IV the Leprous, king de Jérusalem, which gave him the county of Jaffa and Ascalon.
He died of Malaria in Ascalon in June 1177. His/her posthumous son Baudouin will become king de Jérusalem.
Although oldest son of Guillaume V, it did not reign on the Montferrat since it died before his father. It is sometimes called Guillaume VI of Montferrat since it was supposed to take the succession of his father to the head of the Marquisat. Its death deferred the succession on his/her younger brothers, Conrad then Boniface I {{er}}.
