Guillaume Vignal
Guillaume Vignal (1604-1661) is a priest and a missionary of Canada.
It arrived at Quebec on September 13rd, 1648 in the capacity as Prieur of the Ursulines. In 1656, he blesses the church of the Congregation of] STotre-Lady of Qaébec. On the pressing invitation of Mr. the Abbot of Queylus, come in 1657, it left the community which it had served during 11 years, and went on a journey in France, then of return to Quebec, on September 7th, 1659, in the vessel, the Saint-Andrew, with Mr. the Abbé LeMaître, it went to Montreal, like member Séminaire of Saint-Sulpice.
It was wounded, on October 25th, 1661, in island-with-the-Pierre, by a party of Iroquois, which, after having led it to Laprairie of the Madeleine, opposite Montreal, killed it, made roast its body on one to rough-hew, and ate it. the Agnerons , writes the mother Marie of the Incarnation, continue their carnage.
