Mayor of Arles (1824-1830), deputy and general adviser (1829-1834), restorer of the Roman monuments of the town of Arles, botanist and ornithologist.

Biography

Guillaume, Michel, Jerome, Meiffren de Laugier, known as Guillaume de Chartrouse, were born with Arles in 1772.

During the Revolution, it is engaged in the regiment of Allobroges. However it is before a whole landowner. He deals thus of botany and ornithology in his ground of Chartrouse set up in baronnie in 1811 and also has, in the Camargue, the field of Large Badon, and that of Large Paty.

It is considered that it is Temminck, director of the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie of Leyde, the author of the scientific part of the work and the new species which are described there are allotted to him.

He dies in 1843 in his birthplace.
