Guillaume II of Dampierre

Guillaume II , born in 1196, dead the September 3rd 1231, was lord of Dampierre of 1216 with 1231. It was wire of Guy II, constable off Champagne, lord of Dampierre, of Bourbon and Montlucon and Mathilde, lady of Bourbon.
His/her older brother Archambaud VIII, inherited the seigniory of Bourbon, while he inherited Dampierre. In the Comté of Flanders it is known like the regent " Willem I (Guillaume I) van Dampierre".
He married in 1223 Marguerite II (1202 † 1280), countess of Flanders and of Hainaut. They had four children:
- Guillaume III (1224 † 1251), count de Flandre and lord of Courtrai
- GUI of Dampierre (1225 † 1305), count de Flandre and margrave de Namur
- Jean I († 1258), lord of Dampierre, Viscount of Troyes and Champagne constable
- Jeanne, married in 1239 with Hugues III of Rethel († 1243), count de Rethel, then in 1243 with Thiébaud II († 1291), count de Bar
