Guillaume Garot

Guillaume Garot , born the May 29th 1966 with Laval (Mayenne), is a politician French.

He is member of the Socialist party.

Course

Guillaume Garot is the son of old the European Député Georges Garot. After secondary studies with the College Douanier Rousseau with Laval, it returns in preparatory class to the lycéee Chateaubriand then to the Institut of political studies of Paris. It adheres to the PS in 1985.

He works with Daniel Vaillant, initially as director of his cabinet to the town hall of the 18th district of Paris, then like advising with his cabinet, the Ministère of the Interior. From 2002, he works in the team of Bertrand Delanoë, Maire of Paris, and is chagé preparation of the speeches and interventions public. In 2005, he becomes political adviser of Christophe Caresche, assistant of the Mayor of Paris in load of safety.

He presents himself to Laval with the municipal of 2001, then the legislative of 2002 in the First district of Mayenne but fails each time vis-a-vis François d' Aubert. In 2004, he is elected general adviser of Mayenne in the Canton of Laval-South-West.

Become first federal secretary of the PS of Mayenne, it is essential as leader of the left linked on Laval and the General advice of Mayenne.

The June 17th 2007, it creates the surprise by beating the outgoing deputy, François d' Aubert, which postulated with one 7th mandate, with 50,6% of the voices. He becomes thus the first deputy of left elected in Mayenne in a majority poll. He sits within the group Socialiste, radical, citizen and various left and is Member of the Commission of the economic affairs, the environment and the territory.

Following its election like deputy, he resigns of his mandate of city council man in order to conform to the provisions of the law on the Cumul of the mandates. He however announced his candidature for the town hall of Laval, vis-a-vis François d' Aubert, with the municipal elections of 2008.
