Guillaume Bodinier

Guillaume Bodinier is a painter angevin born in 1795 and died in 1872.

Biography

He studies with the school of the fine arts of Paris where he has as professor Pierre-Narcisse Guerin. In 1822, this last is named with the Académie from France to Rome, Guillaume Bodinier follows it then. After 5 years spent in Italy, it obtains the medal of first class to the living room of 1827, with Paris, for its work the Proposal . In 1847, it leaves Italy and returns in Anjou, where it is named honorary director of the Musée of the Art schools of Angers. In 1861, it offers to the city the hotel Pincé to shelter the objects of the collection Turpin de Crissé in the honor of the giver Lancelot Theodore Turpin de Crissé. To its death in 1872, part of its collection and its funds of workshop are bequeathed to the city by his wife.
