Guilin Laurent Bizanet
Guilin Laurent Bizanet , general French.
Private, it passed by all the ranks, and arrived, by his only courage, with that of general. It defended Monaco in 1793, it ordered then Toulon in 1814; it was in charge of the defense of Berg-COp-Zoom, having under its orders the sailors of the Guard. Bizanet ordered Marseilles during the Hundred Days under the orders of Brown.
With Berg-COp-Zoom, Bizanet had 2.700 combatants; an English general, with the favor of the night and intelligences with the inhabitants, introduced there with 4.800 men of elite. They are in the place; the population is for them; one fights in all the streets, and almost the totality of the English troop is killed or remains captive. Bizanet remains Master of the place to the signature of peace.
This seat of Berg-COp-Zoom (there was another in 1747 of them, but there the French were besieging them and carried the place of attack) must be the only one of all the military history where besieging went to besieged.
