Guercheville is a common French, located in the department of Seine-et-Marne and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called Guerchevillois.

The village is located in the Regional natural park of French Gâtinais.

Guercheville is " divisé" in two parts, the borough and the " Buisson" ; but the two ends tend to approach (indeed of construction appear between the two, this reducing the difference between the hamlet and the borough)

Famous characters

Antoinette de Pons, countess of the Rock-Guyon and marchioness of Guercheville (about 1570- January 16th, 1632) was lady-in-waiting of Marie de Médicis, and mistress of king de France Henri IV.

Girl of Louis-Marie de Pons and Emmanuelle of Thimble-Brissac, it has two brothers, Élie and Amable-Hyacinthe. She marries Henri de Silly, count of the Rock-Guyon, which dies in 1586. She meets Henri IV in 1589, receives it several times at the castle of the Rock-Guyon but does not yield to its advances before 1590.

Antoinette remained in the memories like pious and virtuous, and of a great beauty. She paid an great attention to the Jesuits of the French colonies of America and contributed in particular to the financing and the Foundation of the colony of the Island of the Mount-Deserts, in current Maine. This colony nevertheless was destroyed by the English, pretexting a non-observance of the French territorial limits.
