Places and monuments
Castle of the City-Huë (deprived, does not visit itself): XIIIè, XVIIIè, XIXè and XXè centuries. Elegant stone castle coated under slates made up of the old home in its Northern part (XIIIè century), of a principal body, raised on two stages, formant directed frontage flanked western South-South of two turns (XIXè century). The castle was devastated by the flames following the fire of 14 Sptembre 1947. It was rebuilt with identical in the tread with modifications of distribution inside and a lower roof of almost 2,50 m for reasons of economies and lack to materials. France being, indeed, in rebuilding after the second world war, it was then very difficult to get matter of work. The castle is located in the middle of a pleasant park " romantic with the française" decorated trees centenaries. The commun runs of the castle, composed of four 30 meters length buildings each one, formant closed square court, are an interesting illustration of the commun runs of castles such as one could build them at the beginning of the XIXè century. On the Western pigon of these commun runs, one can see a long slate stone with three escutcheons. The escutcheons are the following: 1° of the HAVARD, sior of the HAVARDIERE; 2° of the UGUES, sior of the City-Huë; ROUAUD of LIVOUDRAY; with the top the inscription: " THIS BASTIMENT HAS ESTE FACT FROM: F. UGUES SIGNEUR DE CEANS" Closed vegetable garden of walls, kennels, laundrette are also of design of the XIXè century. At the end of XIIIè century and even front, we find like owners of the City-Huë, family UGUES. Before 1380, Olivier UGUES was lord of the City-Huë and Bocandy. The seigniory remained in family UGUES until 1678 when it passed, per heritage with Therese UGUES, wife of François ROUAUD, sior of Bardoulaye. Then the City-Huë passed, by heritage, about 1750 in Francoise-Marie-Modeste of $the Hague then to his Marie-Madeleine-Julienne sister of $the Hague which married, on February 10th, 1775, Jean-François of PORCARO, knight, sior of Trébulan. In 1830, the City-Huë passed, by heritage with Marie-Anne-Charlotte of MARL-PIT, Marquise of GUER, marries of Louis of RAGUENEL. Its descent still has the castle today (2007) It are more than 26 generations which followed one another the City-Huë without there never being sale. The City-Huë is one of the last seigniories of Morbihan which was thus never sold and was always transmitted by heritage.
The legend of the City-Huë says that Mister of PORCARO, comes every evening, for the period of hunting, with its costume of hunter and its dogs, on the Midsummer's Day Moor. One sees it grinding around the Midsummer's Day vault without trying to enter there. It made there no noise and with the dawn it disappears. It is said that it made his pugatoire there.
