Guelmim-Es Smara
The area of Guelmim-Es Smara (in Arab: rear RTL كلميمالسمارة) is one of the sixteen areas Morocco. It is located in the south of the country. Its surface is of: 133730 km ², are 18,8% of the Moroccan territory, for a population of: 462410 inhabitants. Its place chief is the town of Guelmim.
The south of the area extends on the territory from the the Sahara Occidental, whose sovereignty is disputed between the Morocco and RASD.
The area is made up of the following provinces:

- the province of Tan-Tan
- the province of ESA-Zag
- the province of Touched
- the province of Es Smara (located at the Western Sahara)
Geography
The area is delimited in North by the area of Under-Massed-Drâa, in the South by the area of Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia el Hamra and Mauritania, in the East by Algeria and the West by the area of Laâyoune-Boujdour-Saguia el Hamra, Mauritania and the Atlantic Ocean.
