Guardamar del Segura

Guardamar del Segura ( Valencian Guardamar in ) is a town of Spain, located in the Province of Alicante (Valencian Communauté). Its population is of approximately: 14.000 inhabitants (2006).

Geography

Guardamar is localized in the south of the Segura, flueve which throws in the Méditerranéenne in its communal territory. Traditionnellemente pertaining to Vega Baja del Segura, but so pertaining to Bajo Vinalopó for linguistic, historical and geographical reasons. Guardamar is the southernmost city of the Catalan Pays.

The term Catalan countries (Catalan: Països Catalans) indicates the concept of only one Nation which would include all the territories where one speaks the Catalan Langue. This concept appeared for the first time at the end of the 19th century and later was popularized by the Valencian author in his book (" Us, Valenciens") (1962).

Thus, a popular saying defines the Catalan Countries Salses in Guardamar and of Fraga in Maó .

History

The city can be considered the ancianne Alônis. Some Greek geographers nommainet Alônis a split preceded by a îlot.

Nowadays Alone is the name of the team of Guardamar del Segura of Football, founded in the decade of the fifty.

Tourism

Guardamar has 11 km of coast. Different the beaches are north in the south: Los Tussales, the beach Los Viveros, the Babilonia beach, the Central beach, the beach Roqueta, the beach of Moncayo, the beach of Campo and the beach of Mow Ortigas.
