Guangxu or Kouang-Siu, emperor of China of the Dynasty Qing starting from 1875. Born in 1872, died in 1908. The empress dowager Cixi, with died of the emperor Tongzhi in 1875 pushed her Guangxu nephew, 4 years old, on the throne.

In 1898, the recognized emperor being “ unable to control ”, according to an official statement of the palate, Cixi deals with the regency of the empire. Guangxu had in fact tempted to deeply modify the political system of its country, reforming more or less skilfully the Chinese institutions, following the Western model. Thereafter, the emperor, held on an island within the palate, was not to find the capacity any more, and lived in humiliation and the secrecy until his death in 1908.

Cixi, which died very quickly afterwards, put on the throne its great nephew Xuantong, of its personal name Aixinjueluo Puyi, called also simply Pu Yi , the last emperor of China.
