Gualdo Tadino
The the Cultural Council of Brittany or CCB results from the signature of the Breton cultural Charte signed in 1977 between the French Republic, the Région Brittany and the general advices of the Coast-with Armor, the Finistere, Ille-et-Vilaine, the Morbihan and also of the Loire-Atlantique.
Bound by convention to the Brittany Area, the Cultural Council acts on a Breton department scale five (administrative area Brittany and Loire-Atlantique).
It is composed of:
- 2 representatives of the Economic and Social Council
- 15 representatives of the 5 general advices of Brittany
- 10 representatives of the cities of more than 30.000 inhabitants (2 per department)
- 4 presidents d' Université (Rennes 1, Rennes 2, Nantes, Brest)
- 1 representative of the Cultural Institute of Brittany /Skol-Uhel Ar Vro
- 1 representative of the Cultural Agency of Brittany
- 4 qualified personalities of the cultural life
- 49 cultural associations and federations in the fields of the Breton Language, the Music, the dance, the Breton traditional Plays, the Media S or visual arts, thus gathering several tens of thousands of people, in particular Diwan, Dihun and Div yezh, Skol Year Emsav, Skol Ober, Stumdi, Deskiñ of year oadourien, rear Bodadeg Sonerion, Kendalc' H, War 'L them.
Objectives
It works for the recognition of the Breton Culture and more largely for the Cultural diversity, the opening and the intercultural dialog in Brittany, in France, Europe and in the world. Within this framework, it acts as contact between the elected officials and the associative sector on the important cultural files (teaching of Breton,…).
The CCB wishes a rebalancing of the cultural appropriations of the State to the profit of the area S or the ratification by France of many pacts and international treaties relating to the cultural and linguistic rights.
Activities
CCB acts around four axes:
- it is a privileged place of dialog and exchange of information between the cultural actors and the elected officials,
- he is the spokesperson of the collective aspirations of the cultural world near the public and the institutions and formula of the proposals concerning the cultural policy in Brittany,
- within its internal commissions, it works out projects for cultural development,
- it supports the initiatives of the ground near the authorities concerned.
The CCB takes part in the Printemps of the Breton language ( Nevez amzer rear Brezhoneg ) and organizes his clean Summer school.
He makes studies in particular on the audio-visual development in Brittany. He has coedity White paper a Breton culture for XXIe century , and published the Black Livre of the teaching of Breton the or the Annuaire of the draftsmen of Brittany . He also organizes actions in direction of youth:
- University Young people in Brittany (in partnership with the District council of Brittany) since 2000: culture, regional local development and, new technologies,… in the shape of debates, workshops, of evenings concerts,
- go of the youth of Brittany
- specific days of formation.
He organizes debates and conferences on the minority languages.
The university of the young people in Brittany
The Cultural Council of Brittany organizes each since 2001 the university of the young people in Brittany. In 2007, the university of the young people in Brittany which will take place with Carhaix, with Ti Degemer Kerampuilh, will have as subjects " Roots for the avenir".
Policy in the Cultural Council of Brittany
Certain associations, that they are the circles of dancers and bell ringers or associations of teaching of Breton, (according to the participants in the Breton Mouvement) are qualified " nationalistes" by the opponents with the Breton culture, for the simple fact of having criticized the linguistic of France, largely different policy on this subject compared to the other European States.
