Guéville
The Guéville is small a Rivière which runs in the departments of the Yvelines and of Eure-et-Loir in France.
Guéville, which takes its source in the park of the Château of Rambouillet, is an affluent of Right Bank of the Drouette (itself flow of the the Eure). 16,6 kilometers length, its course is directed north-eastern - south-west. It feeds at its origin the “English river” in the English garden of the park of Rambouillet, where in particular the “thatched cottage with the shells is”. It enters the commune of Gazeran to the hamlet of Guéville, then is punctuated by several pond S created by artificial reserves, in particular in the park of the castle of Neighbors (Saint-Hilarion). Its altitude varies from 143 meters in Rambouillet with 114 meters with Épernon, that is to say an average slope of 17,4 cm/m.
The river crosses five communes, three in the south-west of Yvelines: Rambouillet, Gazeran and Saint-Hilarion, and two in Eure-et-Loir: Droue-on-Drouette and Épernon where it joined Drouette. The course of the river marks the limit on a few kilometers between the communes of Saint-Hilarion and of Droué-on-Drouette (who is also a limit interdépartementale).
It is fed in the north of Rambouillet by the Ru of the Winch, emissary of the pond of the Mill located in the Forêt of Rambouillet.
Many mills and laundrettes spread out along the river. The valley of Guéville is followed by two axes of communication: the secondary road D 906 which connects Rambouillet to Épernon and the line Paris-Chartres starting from Gazeran. A path of small excursion makes it possible to follow the course of the river of rather near.
The management and the maintenance of Guéville are ensured by an intercommunity association, the “Mixed trade-union of the three rivers” (Drouette, Guéville and Guesle) which joins together the trade union of Drouette (5 adherent communes in Eure-et-Loir), the trade union of Gazeran (11 communes) and SIVOM of Rambouillet (4 communes).
The scenario writer Yves Robert and his wife, the actress Daniele Delorme, created a cinematographic production company of the name of Guéville.
