Guénange-large
Guénange-Large is a working city of Sollac (Lorraine Company of Continuous Rolling) created in 1952 on the communal territory of Guénange.
Presentation
In 1948 the Sollac is founded which establishes its factories in Sérémange and Florange. The lack of residences in the area, with the arrival of thousands of workmen, is a reality. Thus, a city is built by Sollac and for Sollac, on Right Bank of the Moselle, in the North-East of the village of Guénange. Constructions begin in February 1952. Several stages are distinguished:

Of the " bandes" residences on a floor, houses individual, semi-detached houses, with one or two levels, set up since 1952-1953. 590 residences are counted. Guénange passes from 580 to 3826 inhabitants.

As of 1955, Immobilère Thionvilloise establishes " domofers". They are buildings built starting from materials resulting from the Sidérurgie. All is metal. 46 " are counted; domofers" , also called " métalliques". Guénange-large is with 606 residences moreover and the population passes to 6853 inhabitants.
In 1968, Guénange counts 10000 inhabitants. Today, the commune enters nothing any more but approximately 7500 inhabitants following the iron and steel crisis. " domofers" are demolished and today completely disappeared from the urban landscape guénangeois.
In spite of that, the character of old working city always remains in Guénange.
