Grunewald turn
The turn Grunewald ( tower of the green forest in German) is a built historical tower with Berlin according to the plans of Franz Schwechten between 1897 and 1898 for the 100e birthday of the Empereur of Germany Guillaume Ier.
The June 5th 1899, the building was inaugurated like Kaiser-Wilhelm-Turm ( turn of the emperor Guillaume ). After the Second world war it was famous Grunewaldturm according to the called surrounding forest Grunewald.
The tower built out of red bricks, has a height of 56 m. It contains a hall arched with a Statue of Marbre of Guillaume Ist Two hundred and four steps lead to a platform offering a beautiful sight on the forest of Havel and Grunewald. The building has a Restaurant and a tavern.
