Gruffydd Maelor II was king of Powys North of 1236 with 1269.
He is the son of King de Powys of North Madog ap Gruffydd I (control surface of 1191 with 1236) and thus by his father the small son of king de Powys of North Gruffydd Maelor I (control surface of 1160 to 1191).
He had a son of a wife unknown, Madog ap Gruffydd II born in 1277.
