Group of Puteaux

The group of Puteaux is the name given to a group of European artists and critics related to a known branch of the Cubisme under the name of orphism. The group was constituted towards 1911 at the time of regular meetings in order to exchange opinions at Jacques Villon with Puteaux, then a village of the western suburbs of Paris.

The group of Puteaux adopted this name in order to be distinguished from the narrower definition of the cubism developed before stalemate Picasso and Braque with Montmartre.

The celebrity of the group of Puteaux dates from the discussed appearance of her members to the Salon of Independent the of the spring of 1911.
