Group TAT
Groupe TAT is a French company specialized in the air services, employing more than 3300 people in the world. It is resulting from the department maintenance of the airline company founded in 1969 and now disappeared TAT. Having begun like pole from maintenance of company TAT, the industrial branch continued to be held by the Marchais family. With the passing of years, the company develops (including after the sale of the airline company mother), in particular by repurchasing concurrent companies:
- In 2000, TAT repurchases the activities of maintenance of AOM,
- In 2005, TAT repurchases Sabena Technics, the industrial branch of Sabena, the late Belgian company to gather as of the following year its industrial services under the mark Sabena Technics.
Its trades are:
- aeronautical maintenance via Sogerma Services, Sabena Technics, Barfield and Sogerma Tunisia
- the hiring of planes
- the management of air credits
In July 2006, Groupe TAT is made known general public following the redemption plan of the activities of maintenance of EADS and conservation of part of employment. The aeronautical manufacturer had then announced the closing of the establishment of Mérignac of his subsidiary company EADS Sogerma, implying many dismissals. The business had then become very quickly political. Moreover, group TAT repurchases EADS Barfield in the United States and 50% of the new business Sogerma Tunisia. With these contributions of activities of EADS, the consolidated turnover of the group is estimated at 450 million euros.
