Group Southern West

The Southern Groupe Western (GSO) is one of principal the editors of daily regional newspaper in France. Based in Bordeaux (the Gironde), it publishes titles in all the south-western part of France, of the Charente-Maritime to the Spanish border. The spearhead of the group is the daily newspaper Southern West (314 000 specimens of France diffusion paid in 2005 according to OJD).
Structure
In June 2006, the president of the directory, Pierre Jeantet (also chairman of Sapeso, Public limit company of press and editions of the Western South, which publishes the daily newspaper Southern West ) left GSO to become managing director of the group the Life it Monde. It is replaced by Olivier Faguer, hitherto managing director, and by Jean-Claude Bonnaud, director of the free publication of Charente .
The capital is held to 80% by the Lemoine family (via Socibog, Civil society of Bordeaux of management). The remainder distributed between the Company of the journalists (10%) and the Company of the personnel (10%) of the group. In 2005, the turnover was of 311,3 million euros, including 51,4% for the daily newspaper Southern West .

Free newspapers
The free newspapers of advertisement of GSO are gathered within S3G (Company of free of Guyenne and Gascogne). Third group of free in France it publishes 90 titles in France and Spain. In 2004, it carried out turnovers of 93 million euros.

- GSO has a participation of 6% in the Spanish group Vocento (owner of the national daily newspaper ABC).
