Group Lorraine bombardment
The Groupe of Bombardment Lorraine - air formation from which the Squadron from hunting 03.033 “Lorraine is resulting”, unit stationed on the Air base 112 of Rheims of 1961 to 2005 - is a group of bombardment made up during the Second world war. It was distinguished in North Africa and Western Europe.
Creation and various denominations
- November 1940: Group reserved bombardment n° 1 (GRB 1)
- September 24th 1941: the GRB 1 becomes the Group of bombardment n° 1 “Lorraine” (Lorraine GB)
- April 7th 1943: “Lorraine” GB is integrated into the command of the Royal Air Force under the name of No.342 Squadron
