Group 47

Group 47 (in German Gruppe 47 ) was a group of writer S German (German literature and literature political), created in 1947 and dissolved in 1967.

Its influence on the re-creation of a Germanic literature after the Second world war is essential. Among the most prestigious writers who revolved around group 47: Heinrich Böll, Ingeborg Bachmann, Fatty Günter, Uwe Johnson.

One generally regards Hans Werner Richter as the founder, or the organizer of the group.

Literary prizes

From 1950, the Literary prize of Group 47 was allotted to still unknown authors. At the beginning, the reward was collected among the members of Group 47, later it was offered by various editors and radio stations (or even offered by Grass and Böll in 1967).
