Ground of the men
Ground of the men is a work of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry published in February 1939 in France, where it receives the Grand Prix of the novel of the French Academy, then with the the United States, in June, under the title of Wind, Sand and Stars (National Book Award, 1939)
In this autobiographical work , Antoine de Saint-Exupéry evokes a series of events of its life - primarily of the time to which he worked for the Aéropostale - which he exploits to feed from the reflections on a certain number of topics: the Friendship, the Love, the Dead, the Heroism, the search for direction…
Before beginning his account, the author quotes Henri Guillaumet “my comrade I dedicate this book to you”. This sentence is a dedication, in homage to this man, who takes part in the history of his life.
