Groisy
Groisy is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Savoie and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Its inhabitants are the Groisiliens and the Groisiliennes
Geography
In the center of the community of communes of the Country of Die, Groisy is in the middle of the department of Haute-Savoie, between Annecy with 16km, the Rock on Foron (and the Valley of Arve), Geneva with 30km and Chamonix with 100km, with a highway exchanger with 5km (A41).This privileged situation contributes to its demographic and economic dynamism. The population more than doubled in 25 years. Approximately 700 employment is distributed on the commune between agriculture, the craft industry, industry, the trade and the services.
Groisy is placed on the slope shone upon vis-a-vis the mountains and profits from a privileged geographical location. Between Die and the Worn ones, the commune is exposed to the South vis-a-vis cliffs of Parmelan. Its panorama also extends from the solid mass of Mont Blanc to that of the Jura, while passing by the top of the Spinner with openings on the Annecy Lake.
Groisy is bordered by the communes of Thorens-Glières, Ollières, Charvonnex, Villy-the-Pelloux, Cruseilles, Villy-le-Bouveret, Menthonnex-in-Terminals and Évires
Climate
The average temperature is of 10°C, the coldest month being February (- 9°C on average) and hottest July (24°C on average). Annual precipitations are of 1340 cm, higher than the departmental average. Snowing up is weak and the cold wind on the plate.
History
The territory of Groisy was occupied since antiquity. During the Roman epoch, its owner “Groisiacus” gave him his name. Its history is consolidated with the Middle Ages, at the time feudal, by the establishment and the local rooting of the noble families which built their residences there: the castle of Soirié founded in 1007, of which remain of the still visible ruins and the castle of Boisy since 1314, of which there remains the principal building.The commune of Groisy saw its destiny related to that of the family of Dirty of Thorens, which will preserve the castle of Boisy until the Revolution and where the mother of François Saint lived the Dirty ones. The construction of the first church in 1410 confirms the old existence of a parochial community. This monument took its current form in 1923 by the rebuilding, after fire, of a Gothic arrow replacing the bell-tower with bulb of 1766.
By the presence of the transportation routes, the trade preserved an important dynamism. An old paved from 4 to 10 meters of broad cross-piece the commune by Soirié, the Surfaces, the wood of Neyrole, Fountain-Sharp way and moves towards Carouge.

It accommodates the young players as of the old one 6 years. With three teams as a male senior and two as a senior female, it is opened to the players of all levels, as well the beginners as the experienced players.
