Grognard
Grognards is the name given to the soldiers of the Old guard of Napoleon Bonaparte. They were tried out Large army, but also most faithful to the emperor, who had called them thus whereas they complained about their living conditions. Some of them followed Napoleon during his exile to the isle of Elba (1814).
Generally, the popular imagery represents the grognards under the uniform of the Grenadier S.
One also indicated them by the expression “the old men of the old woman”, the old men (soldiers) of the old woman (guard).
Homonymy
By extension, the name is also given to the players of warlike simulations, especially of figurines.The Grognard S constitute also a race in the video game Halo.
