Groclant
Groclant is the name of a phantom island which was supposed being located at the west of the Greenland and which appeared on the charts towards the end of the year 1500.
It acts can be of an erroneous reading of the name of Greenland on a chart, or island of Baffin or other islands of the Canadian area of the Nunavut. This part of the Atlantique was explored shortly after and the island of Groclant then quickly disappeared from the charts.
One of the first charts on which it figure is the chart of Mercator in 1569 and one of the last is that of Quadus in 1608.
