Grocer

A grocer is, at the origin, a small shop of food products, held by an independent tradesman. Its name comes from the Moyen-âge where the specialization of the trade was larger than now. The grocer sold mainly spice S. The newspaper “the Grocer” was a weekly magazine created in 1893 per Albert Seigneurie.

According to its authors the goals of this newspaper were:

2°Adjurer all those which exert it never to redden and answer about it by the only contempt the inept mockeries of stupid and useless, incompetents to belong to it and who try to ridicule it;

3°Rappeler with our fellow-members (of which much seems to have forgotten it) that our corporation is at the same time largest and most powerful of the Nation, since it is most numerous, base plate greatest quantity of articles, causes the most considerable movement of businesses and causes production of the greatest amount of work;

4°Lor to show that it would be enough to a very wide moral bond to form a trend of opinion and to change this latent power into an effective, sufficient power victoriously to fight the injustices and the multiple abuses which overpower us…
