Grigy Technopolis
Grigy Technopôle is a primarily recent district located at the south-east of Metz and dominant of tertiary activity.
History
The old part of this district, made up around the village of Grigy and the farm High-Bevoye, still testifies to its agricultural past.89% of the residences were carried out starting from 1949. The population is of 2.667 inhabitants. This population is divided into three categories:
- inhabitants of Grigy;
- students of the universities;
- population related on the prison and the Gendarmerie.
The International exhibition of Metz (FIM) is inaugurated in Grigy in 1977. It was conceived to support the realization of any type of meeting, its modularity and its capacity of adaptation to the new data makes of this site a place of ideal reception, some is the event.
In 1983, one inaugurates the ZAC of the Technopôle of Metz.
The Technopôle accommodates 230 establishments and 4000 paid which are divided into three poles: companies of points related on telecommunication and information, universities and universities, and it business district made up of the Metz-Saarbrucken World Trade Center and the International Center of Congress.
The district also has important commercial surfaces.
Grigy Technopôle has many green areas (wood of Maccabée, golf, lake Symphonie) around whose these various establishments are organized.
Geography
The district is registered between the two slopes of the valley of the Gutter, in the south of Metz:- in the east, the landscape is closed on the heights of the wood of the Lady (249m), Aubigny (243m) and of the field of Mercy (250m).
- in the west, the Extremely of Queuleu (230m) and the farm High-Bevoye (224m) form a watershed attenuated in an agricultural landscape which opens on the Seille.
