Grignan is a common French, located in the department of the Drome and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Situation and access
Grignan is located in the south of the Drome, not far from the Département of Vaucluse, near the Mont Ventoux, in Tricastin.The access by the highway A7 is done while leaving to Montélimar Southern or Bollène.
Human geography
The area is exploited mainly for the cultures of Lavande, Truffe S and Tournesol. The proximity of the town of Nyons makes that the culture of the Olive S can extend to it.The town of Grignan is the place of died of Madam de Sévigné.

Collegial the Saint-Saver
Located under the terrace of the castle, the collegial one shelters fall it from the marchioness of Sévigné. Built by Louis Adhémar de Monteuil, of 1535 to 1544, was the object of a bubble of the pope Paul III, known September 2nd, 1539, which increased considerably the incomes of its chapter. The principal frontage is surmounted by two beautiful towers; the terrace of the castle recovers the flagstones forming its roof from where the rain water by waste-gas mains escapes which finish of the fantastic heads of animals. The cave of Rochecourbière
Located in approximately 500 meters of Grignan, the cave of Rochecourbière, papered ivy and of capillary, is inserted, under the wood of Garenne, offering a fresh and discrete asylum. Into the content, a crystalline water falls drop by drop, in a small basin furnished with foam. It is in this place charming and poetic that Madam de Sévigné liked to come to pass its after midday, the majority of its letters are gone back to it. Tapestries of the presbytery
The presbytery or cleans, old palate of the Seniority, which was used as town hall since the Revolution until 1857, contains rich person tapestries of Aubusson of the XVIIe century, coming from the castle. They represent the scenes of the life of ARIANE heroin of a novel of Desmarets de Saint Sorlin published in 1639.
The Saint-Vincent vault with the cemetery
The oldest monument of Grignan. To primitive Romance style, the vault goes back from the 11th century. Its so pure frontage as well as the regularity of its construction out of small apparatus, make a remarkable building of it. Mentioned in a bubble of the pope Pascal II, of April 24th, 1105, it depended on the priory of Tourrettes and was parish church since 1280 until XVe century. The interior is worthy of outside. Its apse, arched in bottom of furnace, however appears to have undergone many transformations.
